Little journal entries to warm your heart.
Entries packed with information.
And entries for no reason, other than I like them.

In the height of summer, these two share an intimate day for their Crystal Mountain Wedding with the mountain covered in fog.
Every reason I have for choosing an intimate wedding was embodied in Cassie & Brad. A couple that has stood together in the face of challenges, grown together, loved together. They are each others person. She is his, and he is hers.
And this morning, the Snoqualmie mountains woke up just for them. To honor both the fate and commitment that has brought them together, just as the sun is destined to rise each morning.
Like many couples who choose to have an intimate wedding, Tiffany & Joe have invested time in themselves. They’ve grown together, they’ve learned together, their relationship has had ebbs and flows guiding them to where they are today.
The beauty of the tides we experience together is they’re not always easy. We can’t fight the undercurrents, but must swim with them to get to the other side. The undercurrent becomes a part of us, a quiet reminder in the way we smile and the way we speak. And most importantly, the way we stand together.
Tiffany & Joe chose an intimate wedding over a traditional wedding, an experience that felt like ‘them’. It was a cozy day with sun and rain dancing through the clouds. The rain seemed to be just for them, a gift, as they explored the mountains they had all to themselves. After adventurous portraits, they held a backyard ceremony with their friends and family. The tears shared were a nod to the undercurrents shared and survived, they were felt in the wind, with a rainstorm picking up speed to close their vows.
Wedding Stories.
Irene reached out to me with so much love in her voice with one goal - to capture her grandparents. Never having a session with a photographer before, she wanted her grandparents to have something tangible for the people that are her everything. And so on a trip out to Portland, we met at Cannon Beach for a quick nostalgic photo session.
In the Pacific Northwest, we learn to embrace the darkness. Over-romanticizing the quiet, the dreary, the cloud-heavy skies and our minds. But every once in awhile the sun makes an appearance, reminding us to loosen our grip on the dark we hold dear.
A scene straight out of a movie - huddled close together on a cold, moody day, the sounds of water gently pulling us in. But we stay in the solace of each other's company in the chilly air.
Brought to you by the Pacific Northwest, these portraits are what moody dreams are made of. Find us somewhere in the Olympic National Forest.

National Park elopements are devastatingly beautiful, but there are points to consider before choosing it for your wedding. Overcrowding during the summer months, permits, ceremony location limits, access during the off-season, and hidden costs are all explained in this blog.
We were in love, naïve, and broke. But we know what our elopement experience was going to be and were determined to get married exactly how we wanted to. And our elopement was a dream. It filled my cup till it was overflowing. However, if I could give myself advice and plan it all over again, this would be it: What I wish I spent more money on for my Pacific Northwest elopement (and what I’m glad I didn’t spend money on).
The quintessential Pacific Northwest escape. There’s not much better than getting married in the clouds on Crystal Mountain, and here is how to do it.
Photos that are more than just photos. A gallery you can look back on that evokes the smell of fresh morning rain, the crackling sound of a well-loved record, and the warmth of a well-deserved coffee.
When it comes to your wedding day, the thought of artistry may fall to the wayside, as you have much more important feelings, emotions, and logistics to prioritize. If artistic photos are a priority, hire the wedding/elopement photographer who’s photos you love. That much is obvious enough that it’s not included in the tips below. But there are a few things you can do to prepare and help a photographer (a.k.a. me) out, so keep reading.

What I Wish I Spent More Money on for my PNW Elopement (And What I'm Glad I Didn't Spend Money On)

Whispers on the water, but it's just the wind as it meets the leaves.
Footsteps haven't left a trace, but I know where we've been. Wanting without warning, we don't need one. In the darkness of fall, this intimacy is ours. I'm okay with not seeing another soul today, because all I need is yours. Given without hesitation now, although it wasn't always this way.
I'm wondering if it's as fleeting, or as everlasting, as whispers on the water.
